Tried to lock in 4 Hi today and the shifter won't go down far enough to get to it. 4 Lo is fine and it moves free just won't go down far enough to lock in. Any ideas. One of the last remaining Dodge parts that hasn't been rebuilt yet.

It's been rainin for a few days now so I haven't crawled under yet to check for anything obvious, maybe a stick wedged in there or somethin.

 

Sounds like it could use an adjustment. But it does stay in 2 wheel ok though? Doesn't try and pop out?

 

No other problems at all, just no 4WD Hi. Not even a problem locking in, the shifter just doesn't move far enough to get there.

 

Might be out of adjustment then. If you can adjust them??

 

yes you can adjust them, i believe its either a 7/16 or 10mm wrench, cant remember which
