Using Oil

My dads truck just started recently using alot of oil, about a quart a week. Its been gradually using more and more. It is a 98 24-valve auto. The truck only has 164K on it, and we are very good with maintenence and we run amsoil. It doesnt leak, leave spots or smoke white. the only thing i can think is that we are running an II HRVP-44 and Mach VI++ which are 235+ HP injectors and a quad adrenaline, and it is just pouring in the fuel at idle and it is washing down the cylinders and wearing away the engine prematurely. it hazes alot when idleing and takes a while for the egt's to come down before we can shut it off. we were gonna buy new smaller injectors but i didnt know if that actually is the culprit.

Any help will be appreciated. If any questions just ask.

thanks

Cody

If it's not leaking out and your not gettin an excessive amount of blowby it has to be burnin it so your probably on the right track here. Never heard of it doing this but your movin a massive amount of fuel there. In any case your wearin the engine way to fast runnin those sticks with I assume a stock turbo anyway. The higher you run those EGT's on a steady basis the shorter the life span of that engine is gonna be. You need a much bigger turbo and exhaust to be runnin that big a sticks in it.

sorry forgot to mention it has a sps66, o-ringed and studded head, .020" over head gasket and 4" exhaust to stacks. also has aFe race air filter. this is also my dads daily driver going 24 mi round trip.

You were scarrin me there for a minute. Sounds much better with these changes.

Personally I think I would tie a sock off to the blowby tube just to be sure it's not spittin oil and just not sticking to the truck and crawl around under there to look for wet spots. You may also try goin back to Dyno oil for the next change to see if it still does it. I bet it don't. Synthetic is great stuff but it will slip through any of the smallest cracks. I can't run it in my engine. Not a leak one with Dyno but it leaks all over the place with synthetic.

Typically if your havin problems with the rings lettin oil past this creates the blowby pressure. But the haze is a sign of either leaking head gasket, to much air to fuel ratio or burning oil so that part fits what your talkin about.
