ECM/lift pump question for electrical guys...

First post.... Over the summer, my truck lost fuel pressure. No power to my FASS HPFP. I got the truck towed home and started to diagnose the problem in my driveway. Long story short I finally realized that the ECM was giving intermittent signals to my FASS from factory plug. So I just wired a switch to the relay so I can with the key on prime my lift pump for 3 to 5 seconds shut it off, start the truck, flip the switch and turn the pump back on. But I was thinking if I could do this instead. I noticed that when I start my truck I lose power to my radio, so could I just take the signal from the wire that powers the radio and run the pump. Key on I would get a signal to my FASS, truck in start position would kill the power so no pressure to the VP44 while starting, then truck starts release key and signal start the FASS agian... Sounds to easy would this work?
