new truck

Ok guys ive been gone for a while and am getting back into the diesels, still have the one in my sig but the rust of indiana winter has gotten the best of her. I was going to just redo the truck but im finding that i can actually buy the same year truck with zero rust for about the same price as what its gonna cost to redo mine. so the truck im looking into is a 2001 qclb 4x4 auto with 275,000 miles on it, leather interior sound system and a fass fuel system 5" exhaust and a brand new torque converter. i have a fully built tranny that i can put in it and my juice w/attitude will plug and play also. My only concern is the 275,000 miles what do you guys think??? thanks in advance for your opinions

I wouldn't worry about mileage. As long as it was cared for.

Sounds like you have a GREAT donor truck. I would pull the trigger if the price is right for you!!!

Well fellas i bought another 2nd gen, 2000 excb sb 4x4 nv4500 dual disk, with 190,000 on the clock over all a pretty decent truck, think i will look for a new bed from down south the wheel wells are starting to rust but she only set me back 9,500.. do have a question and i need to check what gearing it has but at 70 on the interstate it is turning 2000rpm is this normal?????

gh0stman 07-04-2017 04:30 PM

70 mph at 2000 rpm is 3.55 gears. Congrats

So is 2000 rpm at 70 normal for these?? I didnt wanna run what i normally would on the interstate was affraid of what the rpm would be

gh0stman 07-05-2017 04:48 AM

These engines are fine to run anything less than 3200 all day long. I wouldn't worry about it.
