24v to 12v swap

I have heard that you can swap a 1998 12v into a 24v truck as long as you have the engine harness and the pcm. What are your thoughts? I have a blown 24v and thinking of swapping. Thanks

What part is blown? Why not fix the problem. You can still ppump if you wanted.
