Egt readings problem
Got a 99 24v with edge cts2 monitor, egt readings were fine, installed a system an now my egts read below 100 at idle cruising only at 400 an if you get on it they drop to below 100 an as soon as u let off they read correctly for a second or 2 then go back down low, any suggestions??

Looks like you need a new probe. I would call edge and see if they could help you out. With it being a CTS2 it should be under some sort of warranty.

It's not ironic tho how it started as soon as the system? When I say system I mean amp an subwoofers

Is there a way to test the probe first I think my 90 day warranty is up

That I don't know. What are your temps when you turn your truck to the on position and don't crank it? Try unplugging the "system" and see what happens. I think its just a coincidence.

Depends I've seen it stay around 50 an I've seen it around 300

Im willing to bet you have a bad probe.

You might also have a bad ground or you disturbed something when installing the system. I'm not up on the slang but someone said a system is a stereo? Lot's of wires to run and power to find and grounds to hookup. Could be anything where the wiring runs need to electrical to your gauge or you may have broken the probe to gauge connections somewhere. If you can get another gauge hook it up in place of your original gauge and see how it's reading. Don't have to install the gauge except for the probe unless it requires electrical feed. If the test gauge reads the same sitting idling as the installed gauge then it's not the gauge or probe. I did this when my fuel gauge quit and found that I needed a new gauge. Thank God for that.
