A real problem here! Help!

I have a 2002 5.9. its my second one and having the same problem that I had on my last one. I know the oil canister is supposed to catch some extra oil coming out of the crank case. Well I'm a welder on the pipe line and when I head down a pretty steep hill, oil over flows the canister and goes all over the ground. ( very embarrassing and gets all over my clean engine) My last one did the same thing. what do I do. these trucks have been used on pipelines since they where built what is everyone else doing to stop this from happening.

Any help would be appreciated. I gotta get this to stop.

oh yea by the way I'm talking a lot of oil. easily a quart in about 2 or 3 hours of working on a downhill slope.

How is your HVAC system working? I ask because if you have a kink in your line or an obstruction. It will cause the pump to start pressurizing the crank case causing it to push oil out of the over flow tube. I changed my vent tube to run out of the back of the engine. It helps a lot with oil leaks. This mod can be don't with about $10 or less worth of material. Just google Morpar1973man Cranks case vent mod.

I will have to look into how my HVAC system is working? Have you heard of this problem before people at work seem to think it's common for these trucks but don't have much advice for stopping it.

Here is some pictures of what I did to clean up the problem. It looks funny but works well to know when there is a real leak at the engine and not just oil blowing out the crankcase vent.:choochoo:

Mine runs back over the intake manifold and stops by the starter.
