Bad turbo bearing

Hi I have a 02 2500 with 140000 miles on it. Well yesterday I left work and going down the highway some jackals couldn't wait 3 cars to get off on an exit so he raced on the side cut in front of people which I in turn had to slam on my brakes and lock them up and I ended up blowing a brake line. Which ok no biggie even tho I was pissed off now. After I chased The guy down pissed off I left a stop sign got in the throttle and I heard a loud metal on metal sound which I thought brakes but upon driving more I noticed the turbo was louder. So when I got home I popped the hood and reved the motor. No leaks on the turbo but I could feel a bad vibration in that area and noticed my boost doesn't do that high any more maybe dropped 2 psi. But I'm wondering can I change out the bad parts in the turbo easily?

Any suggestions on a turbo that may be a little better than stock? Or would I reck my transmission with a little upgraded turbo

I would check your induction boots closely and see if you didn't blow one off the intercooler pipe. Are you sure its the turbo damaged can you feel any play in the shaft or rubbing noise when turning it by hand?
I like the BD super B turbo for a small upgrade, I did notice that Allen from BD posted a sale on S300 turbos.

Yes I went and checked more today the bearing is bad it's rubbing on the housing. The cone that goes on front of the compressor wheel fell off once I pulled the intake off. And is damaged . can I buy that ring? And I may try a rebuild first if that doesn't work I'm going to upgrade the turbo a little mise well if I'm spending the money. Cause driving it more the noise got louder . and if I rebuild it myself do I need to get the wheel balanced?

I haven't tried rebuilding any turbos I know you can buy the kits but something that turns that fast I would rather trust to a turbo manufacturer to do. I think you can buy an overhauled Holset for just a bit more. If my turbo ever goes bad BD will be getting a call.

Right. I'm going to stop at a shop in town. And see what they will do. Price wise. It sucks I don't have the money for a new turbo. I'd actually have to go to the bank and see about borrowing some. I hate to have my truck sit for a couple months:/ now if I do upgrade the turbo will that help with fuel mileage? Just curious. I know lower egts for sure
