make my auto trans stronger

I recently bought a 3/4 ton 4x4 truck with a auto trans just turned over 80k on the odometer I'm not having any issues with the truck at all but I have absolutely no trust with automatics I don't want to do a rebuild or build just prolong the life of one in it whay are yalls suggestions I don't really want to pull the trans but If I need to I will

I don't know of any easy fixes. I've heard that if you add a better torque converter and valve body, that will go a long way (approx 400 hp). At that point, the trans is out of the truck though, and if so, if budget allows, maybe add more such as a billet input shaft, clutch upgrades and internals. I ended up biting the bullet, I figured do it once and be done...I had Tim at TRE diesel do mine. Impressive. It shifts firm but doesn't slip anymore! Home Page Tim's a great guy, he'll work with you too.

What Chuffy said is ideal :tu:

Somethings that helps extend the life of an automatic tranny that is fairly cheap and an add on is :
a deep fluid pan and an external cooler.
An inline filter in the cooler return line.
Anything to reduce the heat of the fluid this is what kills transmissions.
The in line filter just keeps contaminates out of the main filter if the converter or clutch parts disintegrate.
Hope this helps

Yes at a minimum a VB and TC are best. If power is increased it is best to look at a kit from revmax or suncoast.
