99 Cummins no start after fuel filter change.

SO. I swapped out the fuel filter on my truck the other day. Popped the new one in, no start.
No problem, I think. I'll just prime the fuel lines and be good. So I crack the banjos at the VP44, good pressure on both intake and return. Still no start.
Okay, gotta crack the injector lines. My fuel pressure gauge informs me I'm getting 11 PSI at the fuel filter. 11.5 today.
Here's where I'm having issues. I've tried cracking #s 1, 3, 4 and 5 all at once, and sequentially. My batteries are about run down, from the amount of time I've spent running the starter. But my lines won't purge. The truck ran like a tank before I popped off the fuel filter, so I can't imagine the VP44 has gone out (except in my nightmares.) :argh:
I've browsed youtube, this forum, other forums, and I can't seem to find anything new. I'm almost at the point of just having it towed to a diesel mechanic, where they'll laugh at this guy whose too dumb to bleed his own fuel lines.

Did fuel come out at the injectors?

Hey Colin...Let me just ask you 1 question. Did you cycle the key off and on, initially to purge prime the system? Generally, You don't have to do any of that, bleeding. Just cycle key X till you got fuel. Did you check if your popping a code? Did you do anything else besides the fuel filter service? What lead you to start bleeding lines?

BikerBri is right you shouldn't have to be cracking injectors and banjos. I was wondering if the fuel was getting that far or not. I usually loosen one of the plugs on the top of the filter head when I cycle my key. I did have a lift pump go out before and had to blow air in the tank to force fuel up till I got a new pump, but you said you had fuel pressure so it shouldn't be a lift pump.
