Checking lift pump

Shouldn't my lift pump make a sound when I turn the key to on?

I don't remember ever hearing it when I had a stock one, but I didn't really listen for it either. The aftermarket one makes some noise.

I don't think my stock one ever made a noise, but my FASS does. What lift pump do you have currently?
