Hub replacement

Hey guys I need to replace my passenger side front wheel bearing/hub assembly. Just curious how difficult the job is. I've had one person tell me 30 minutes and another tell me it's super hard.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined, just wanted to know what I am in for before I dig in.

Depends on how handy you are in my opinion if your not using an impact than the hardest part is getting the axle but off just take the tire off the caliper off and rotor than get the axle but off and slide the axle out and take the bolts off that hold the hub to the knuckle :c:

Yeah all I got is an electric impact which I am quite sure will not work. Sounds like I just need to talk a buddy into using their impact gun :tu:

More than likely the electric one won't have enough power to get it off I run snap ons half inch pneumatic and it takes them off farley easily just depends on the amount of rust and road grime also they recommend replacing them axle nuts I would recommend it too especially if it's really rusty

When I had to pull mine to do the brakes (98.5 3500 dually so you get to pull everything apart to replace rotors) I ended up with a leaky axle seal on the driver's side. Try not to let the axle shaft flop around too much when you're doing it (harder than it sounds like).

Another fun part of the dually was removing the dually spacer. There isn't really enough room to get anything other than the open end of a wrench in there. I think that was the longest part of the job for me.

You also need a 12 point socket if you haven't looked that far into it yet.
