recabbing 99 dodge with cummins

was wondering if anyone can give me info on what I need to keep off 99 dodge cab chassis, when I put on a 40 international cab
wondering as far as electrical.
thinking I may intergrade dash and steering column into IH cab.
thoughts from anyone please

If you convert to a mechanical pump from the vp44 it'll make it a lot less complicated, but if you want the full electronic suite for the engine... there's going to be a lot you'll positively have to keep. I've never done anything like that so this is all speculation. I guess I'd start with removing the whole wiring harness and everything it attaches to and removing the items that aren't needed from that piece by piece. There are so many little bits that you'll need for the electronics to work right there.

Which cab are you actually using? Light/medium?

1940 DS-30 cab is what I am using

Post pics when you start the build. If your dead set on keeping it all electronic then follow baradiums advice. My advice is p pump it. Less electronic stuff, easier to get power out of, etc.

If you are keeping the current setup, ie VP44. You might as well use the electrical bits already on the truck. Pretty much the truck will be thinking dodge while it has been "re-skined".
