98.5 auto transmisson problem

i have a 98.5 24valve 4spd auto with 218k on her and all of a sudden I have been experiencing a shudder when accelerating. 0-40 is fine but 50-70 is horrible it shudders as if I am driving over little bumps and hear the turbo lock up when ever it shudders. sometimes one or two shudders in a row and then sometimes multiple. like today was on the highway, no issues until getting onto the highway, and got to the 50-70 speed and was just one after another, couldn't push the pedal without it doing it. But what gets me is that it doesn't always do this. one day itll be like the issue was never there and then the next day its bad.

ive looked around and found it could be the T/C going out. or even to the most simple, bad battery connectors and ground wires.

I am at that point where I have no more ideas and its just becoming a inconvenience and very annoying.

Would appreciate the help!

just send mt TC to goerend to be rebuilt... what you described is a tried and true sign of a TC issue and or a balancing issue with the TC.

Mine does it when I take the EJWA higher than I really need to be (Level 5) and push it over 12-15PSI boost. Do you have any power adders? that could be your problem. I never had any issues with power until it was in OD.

Is it a rapid shudder or more of a severe surging?

Mine is more like the truck turns into a bucking bronco. But I have learned its limits and keep it below when I put it into crazy mode. Mainly keep it at level 2 or 3 with the current setup.

That sounds like a bigger issue waiting to happen man....almost seems like a fueling issue

That could still be what mine does with the ground/interference problem.

Hopefully I have mine fixed now.

I tried to use two different versions of the noise suppressors, and neither seemed to help. At this point I do have aluminum foil on half of the cables on the passenger side of the truck (ok, maybe not, but it feels that way) and that seems to have solved it so far.

Clean your battery terminals. Get a can of cleaner and a can of sealer.
