Advice needed for programmer!

I just purchased a 2001 dodge 24 valve cummins with a NV5600 6 speed transmission and my question is is there a programmer out there that will show a pretty good hp gain and roll a little smoke but is with a decent price range. I just want to know is there a tuner/programmer for a cummins with a manual tranny. Thanks:humm:

I think your best bet price wise would be an Edge Comp, or a smarty. Both are in the $500-600 range. As for anything cheaper than that I dont know.

Will either one of those work for a straight shift?

Yeah they tune the motor not the trans. I would recommend an upgraded clutch if you want access to all the power.

Ok thanks is there any other tuners that will work with a manual?

They all work from what I have seen.

I have a smarty on my 2001 with NV4500. I've toasted stock clutch number 2 and the Valair has just arrived to go in. If your running a stock clutch you need to be a bit careful with the large torque bump

With any of these tuners you need to upgrade the trans in some sort of fashion. AUTO or Manual you have the potential to fry them.
