IS IT A STARTER PROBLEM OR SHORT
On my 2000 dodge 5.9 is having an issue. It is intermittently blowing the ignition fuse when I try and start it. If I jumper across the little purple wire by the battery once it will click the solenoid in and out on the 2nd or 3rd time it will start. Last night I went through 4 fuses before I did the jumper wire. This morning no issue it started like it was suppose to. It could go like this for 1 start or 100 starts any ideas?

My half ton conversion was doing this. I got tired of dealing with it couldn't find any issues. I know its not very smart. I just put a wire in the fuse slot. Figured if there's an issue I will find it now. Its been like this for around a month with no issues. So I'm interested in this as well.

I put in a 30 amp fuse instead of the 20amp will see. I should have the starter checked to see how much it is drawing. Maybe the next time I have a day off and the auto store is open.

I would check your grounds it sounds like a grounding issue if its really intermittent and you know the relay is good and the fuse is good if the starter were to I fact be bad there are rebuild kits for the contacts in the selnoid motor itself for 35$ but usually when those go bad they are stuck 100% open/off or 100% closed/on hope this helps you guys
