2001 3500 diesel power steering pumps failing

I have a 2001 Dodge 3500 diesel 4X4 with a 9ft plow. The power steering pump failed in Dec and installed a rebuilt unit from Federated parts, this was faulty when installed and had another pump installed. This pump lasted for about 6wks and it also failed (hard to turn). Next pump was a rebuilt unit from NAPA which lasted for about 1mo and failed. Last week I installed a new Mopar unit (about twice the price of the others) and when I went to pick up the truck, I could not turn the wheel completely to the right, and had difficulty turning to the left. This was at the mechanics shop. It was low on fluid, I added fluid and this did not correct the problems turning the wheel. The track bar, tie rod ends and steering linkage seems ok. Any ideas what could be causing the pumps to fail or what else could be the problem?

have you checked the pump output pressure? it sounds to me like you might have a bad steering box, or hydro-boost

No I have not, I am not having any brake issues so I am assuming the hydro boost is ok
