I just replaced my lift pump,filter and VP44 on my 98.5. The truck was starting right up before the new parts but was running very rough and had a high idle. Now it is starting really hard and cranks for quite some time before it fires up. It runs great once started. If I start it right after its run it will start right up but if it sits for any time it will start hard. Is it possible its loosing prime to the injector pump? It is not leaking anywhere I can see.

Just had the same issue with mine i tightend the inline ports to tight and it crushed the copper washers to much and it was leaking but not much if you feel around your inline side and feel fuel ..it shouldnt be there also on the filter houseing check good i would reprime and wipe clean and make sure its dry the start the truck and see what you get

 

Thanks I will try that. I will probably just get new copper crush washers and replace them all then go from there.
