Default Oil Pressure Switch??

Anyone know of anyway to test the oil pressure switch on my 98.5 24V? Had been told it could be or was possibly bad wanted to test it with a volt meter or something before I just buy one to find out my problem isn't solved. Thanks!!

Guess I should maybe explain the problem also. Oil pressure gauge on the truck sometimes just dumps to zero and then pops back up and completely full on oil. Also yesterday started having a had starting issue don't know if they are related or not. Thanks again!

Think I would use a manual pressure gauge to verify oil pressure while the condition was occuring. Shouldn't cause a hard start. You could test for a faulty switch once you know you've got oil pressure.

Remember that will only work while the oil pressure gauge is not showing pressure!

I think I would just change it out, mine went bad and you can check the pressure manually and you could put pressure to the oil sender and check gauge but best to just change it out . the dealer is too expensive you need to go to commins truck shop. they will try to sell you a new type one that is on or off. if I find the number I will post
