I found a 2001 2500 Sport 4x4 6 spd QCSB! It only has 115k miles on it. I hope its clean because I can't wait to get another truck! My previous was an 01 2500 5 spd 4x4 QCSB.

 

Sounds good, just make sure it isn't a 53 block. Which you might already know since you owned an 01 already.

 

Haha yea its going to be alot easier going to look at this one after going through the rookie phase already! The only part unfamiliar to me is the NV5600, i cracked the case, tail housing and supposedly tore the gears up in my NV4500. I never saw any of it but it was spewing fluid and making all sorts of racket when it happened. I only had the truck for 40k miles and didn't haul anything heavier than a round bail of hay or a cube of bricks.

 

NV5600 is a tough trans... being an 01 it will have the HO motor most likely unless it is really a 00.5 then it will be SO.

just check the 8th digit in the VIN to verify...

 

wow I was extremely disappointed in the truck. I purchased my previous truck from the same place and I just wasn't happy with answers to my questions or the way the truck looked. It was a roll over so new cab and bed on the drive train. I asked about the 53 block and i got a quick answer that they don't see those any more, then i asked about the lift pump and another quick answer of as far as I know its fine. I took it for a ride, the clutch didn't begin to grab until at least 3/4 of the way out, it didn't like down shifting at all, there was a vibration coming from the shift handle, and I also heard and felt another vibration. The dash was faded and not put back on properly, the fuel gauge didn't work. In my mind the truck was not even close to being worth 14k. The sad part is I had a couple that was ready to hand over 6k for my car today but I had to tell them no. I won't be going back there for a truck again.
