Yea that cross-member was a real bummer. LOL I think the factory put camber into the frame so they could just drop the cross-member in from above and it would sit in place w/o having to be held in place for bolting. The wife even chipped in by reading the dial on the HD torque wrench I borrowed, ...since I couldn't put my feet against the running boards, pull my guts out, and read the dial all at the same time. :s: Didn't have enough room for the cheater bar that came with the wrench. |
Continuing to cross my fingers, And staying out of 5th gear at less than 1500rpm.
Update: Miles now at 145K (145k-138k = 7k), which I know is not a lot of history for the durability of the fix. It includes one 4200mi trip which was primarily 5th gear interstate. Again, thanks for all the help from this forum. :tu: |
