ENGINE/TRANS SURGE AT 55MPG

2000 DODGE 2500 24VALVE

JUST YESTERDAY THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO SURGE AT 55MPH WHILE CRUSING. WHEN DRIVING THE RPMS JUMP FROM 1300 TO ABOUT 1800 EVERY SECOND OR SO AND YOU CAN DEFINETLY FEEL IT INSIDE AS IT ROCKS YOU BACK AND FORWARD. IT FEELS LIKE THE TRUCK IS TRYING TO DOWNSHIFT BUT IT DOSENT FULLY AND THE RPMS JUMP BACK UP TO GET BACK UP TO SPEED. NOW WHEN YOU INCREASE THE SPEED TO 60MPH AND ABOVE IT SEEMS TO GO AWAY.

TRUCK HAS EDGE EZ INSTALLED,NEW INJECTION AND LIFT PUMP, ONLY HAVE ONE CODE FOR A CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, NEW FUEL FILTER AND ALL THAT. NOW THE TRUCK HAS BEEN RUNNING GREAT WITH THE EDGE INSTALLED BUT IT SEEMS LIKE ITS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH OR WITHOUT A CHIP INSTALLED.

ANYBODY OUT THERE KNOW WHATS WRONG

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Sounds like your torque converter is going in and out of lock up. It's a common problem caused by the alternator interfering with the apps signal to the PCM. You can try wrapping the wires that run by the alt with foil which works for some folks but the only thing that worked for me was an apps noise isolator

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF the truck works WORKS FINE WITH THE OVERDRIVE OFF AT 55MPH. OR IS IT STILL GETTING INTERFERENCE FROM SOMEWHERE

Get a new speed sensor. 25$ at auto zone. My truck did the same thing. Swapped it out and have had zero issues. This was just a couple months ago too.
