Default Strange plugged fuel filter

So we've had a cold snap the last few days of-20 at night and maybe 0 during the day. My truck wasn't real happy about starting today and when it did the low fuel pressure light was on. I know I should have a gauge , it's on the list. I pulled the fuel filter and the attached photo is what it looked like, plugged solid with a slimy/waxy buildup. Kind of like old grease. I've seen "gelled" filters but never like this. Only 7k on this filter and I only get fuel from a few places that are high volume. I got some biodiesel over the summer when I was in north Dakota not sure if that would have anything to do with it. just wondering if anyone had seen this before and if I should be worried.
