2nd gen 24v shrieks when I shut it off
hey when I turn my truck off it shrieks loudly , what would cause this?

By shrieks loudly, could that also be considered a chirp?
If so, that is completly normal, and is very common. It has to do with the belt slipping when the engine comes to a stop. If the belt is worn, if oil and even coolant from the water pump has come into contact with the belt, that chip can happen. |
sounds like a cummins to me

Its the belt, likely slipping on the alternator pulley. I strongly suggest a Goodyear Gatorback belt as a replacement.
