Information on 1998.5 to 2002 Cummins
 

I am preparing to install new Innercooler Boots and called Cummins and Dodge about the KDP aswell. I gave Dodge the Vin # and they looked up all recalls that were ordered for my truck. They said they could not find a recall for the KDP, however they found three recalls that were not repaired.
1. #788- Diesel fuel tube.
2. #799- PCM
3. #8001- PCM
4. #872- Trailer hitch reinforcement bracket.
This work is free of charge to me, regardless of mileage because it was a Recall.

I called Cummins and talked to the manager, he said he remembered the KDP but Cummins never called a KDP. then sent me to the parts man. The parts man ask for the Cummins Engine ID# which I gave him, He will call me right back........He just called and said that once they sell Dodge their Cummins Engines, Dodge owns them and Cummins are not allowed to work on them while under Dodges warranty. True of False, I don't know.

KDP is not a recall thing. its a DIY fix by tabbing your pin. however it wasn't much of a 24v issue. more of a 12v issue. some 24v's don't even have them!
