Oil pressure gauge

I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this before i start digging in...
When i turn my key on to the run postion "waiting to start" i notice my oil pressure starts building pressure...? :humm:
It builds up some, and then when the truck is running it is the high side of "normal/between the center section" and doesnt seem to move at all while driving.
Im thinking maybe screwed up wire somewhere or maybe bad sending unit?

When i bought the truck, the guy also told me the owner before him told him it runs out of fuel at 1/4 tank. He said he never ran it that low to find out. When i filled up at 3/8 of a tank, it took 29 1/2 gallons. Is the fix just a matter of changing the fuel sending unit in the tank?
I've read people talking about changing the draw straws?

Any info on either issue would be greatly appreciated.

The fuel tank being empty at 1/4 is a known problem. A new sending unit will take care of that issue.

As for the oil pressure issue, I would be having a look at the sender. Oil seeping into the electronics can cause false readings. Remove the plug to the sender, and have a look.
