buying a new clutch

so im buying a clutch this week and already sold on a southbend dual disk, my question is whats the difference between the 3250 and 3600 in performance? this is my toy/tow truck that I want to pull with sometimes. which would be better for me?

Here's the clutch I have on my truck. South Bend Dyna Max Double Disc Clutch (Incl. Flywheel) Great for work, tow, play.

The difference between a 3250 and a 3600 is first of all the clutch material and holding force of the clutch. If you are.going to pull def go with the 3600 at least. I have a 3850 and love the organic discs on the 3250 cant take the heat when slipping like the comp clutches in the 3600 or 3850 can.

What about the Southbend single disc? I rarely ever tow, just a daily driver with Edge Comp and Hypertech stacked.

if you don't plan on making much power, a single disc will do fine...

however if you ever plan on making a lot of power in the future you will want a dual disc...

I run a south bend 3600 double disc and my dyno run last weekend put down 576hp 1285tq @ the rears. clutch is holding it solid without even the hint of slipping.

for any double disc you will want the upgraded hydraulics...don't even both trying to use the stock ones...they will just fail on you in a matter of weeks..

btw stacking an edge with a hypertech isn't gaining you any power...be better off selling the hypertech and getting the edge hot unlocked.

I've already proven stacking an all in one box with a programmer causes you to lose quite a bit of hp and torque on the dyno vs running an all in one box by itself...

however stacks that work well together are boxes that only do wiretap fueling like the TST comp, with boxes/programmers that do timing like smarty or edge ez. if both do canbus fueling then they tend to conflict and kill top end power.

I lost 70hp and 212lbs/ft torque stacking a smarty with the adrenaline vs running the adrenaline by itself... just food for thought :tu:

I would go with a Valair Organic Towing Dual Disc.

Yah Im just going to go with the Southbend single disc. Not planning on putting out lots of power. BTW jigabop, youre probably right since youve been experienceing with stacking, but I will say level 3 on my edge with the Hypertech is much more impressive then when its on its own with no Hyper. And I can now leave my buddies in massive black clouds :tu:

lol I can do that anyways...
Attachment 34857

takes a bit of right foot control to keep it from doing that...
