fuel pressure issues

I have a quadzilla on a 2000 3500. When I run it on a 2200 pump stretch and 10* timing I drop fuel pressure from 20 at idle, 16 cruising down the road. It has a fass hpfp with 3/8" fuel lines and a draw straw. Pretty sure everything else is stock on the truck. I've tried crimping the return line a little and stretched the spring in the pump. I'm leaning toward replacing the fuel lines with 1/2". Anyone have any better idea.

1/2" lines help if you have a 1/2" draw straw, but so does having a higher flowing pump...

what is the GPH rating on the pump?

definitely room for improvement.

my fuel system runs 20psi idle, 19psi cruising and about 16psi WOT with electronics set to kill...but I am far from stock...

also I hope you retorqued your head bolts or got head studs running that kind of timing.

I blew a head gasket on stock turbo and stock injectors running my timing like that with the adrenaline @ 35psi on the turbo...

it made quite the oil mess in the radiator...

10* of timing increases cylinder pressure quite a bit...this excess pressure combined with higher boost levels can easily pop a gasket if those head bolts aren't down tight! (125-135lbs/ft)

I'm very rarely over 28 lbs. I'm going to try the 1/2" lines and maybe do the updated banjo bolts. If memory serves me right its a 95 gph.

Do 08 JIC fittings and 1/2" pushlock to 08 JIC fittings. Vulcan performance has everything you need. You can also get the fittings from a local hydraulic supply. To get the hose on the pushlock, the best way is to let the end of the hose soak in boiling water for a minute or so to soften it up, then immediately push it on to the fitting.

Once it's on and cooled down, it's never coming back off. No need for hose clamps.

There are adapter fittings that will fit the pump, filter housing, and the injection pump.
