Running HOT at Idle

Over the past couple of weeks Ive started to notice that while at idle my truck seams to start running hot. Normal running temp is usually around 175-185 but at idle or while in traffic it reaches 210-220+ which also causes my trans temp to reach 220-230+, No good right. And then when I start to move again it goes back down to almost normal. After it happens once it doesn't take long for it to start again. Even while sitting at a red light it gets hot. Any Ideas anybody. Please help

P.S. Thinking about getting an intercooler, will this help at all ???????

I would drain and flush the radiator coolant and replace the thermostat. Also, do you ever hear you fan clutch kick in? May need to put a new fan clutch in it.

Thanks HRD, I checked to see if the fan was coming on but didnt hear anything so i popped the hood to check an see if it was running. it looks to me like its belt drivin and constanly stays on all the time. i dont think it has a clutch. could be wrong though but none the less it is on and running. with that being said is there even a thermostate ?? anything else it could be ???

The fan will always spin but won't engage fully until a certain temp. You will hear it when it engages it makes a distinct sound.

This video kinda gives you an idea of the sound it should make.
