To set up the swap correctly you will need to be sure you have the specs to set it up by and the gauges. if you don't set the gears matched up the way they are worn in you will have a noisy rear end.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- We swapped the axles between 2 3500 4X4 took the 4.10s out of the Diesel and 3.55s out of the V10. Both were 5spds and used for towing. It improved both trucks. After that I would never put 4.11s in a cummins. I have never had trouble getting started with a load even on a hill and we have grossed out over 22K. |
I love the 4.11s 3.54s kill my mileage in this truck. If I'm grossing 20k and under no huge deal but 33k you are really feeling it, especially in the hills. Then again the most I have ever driven my truck without a trailer is the 150 miles home when I bought it.
|
We're flat landers so not used to pulling in the hills. I can't imagine a pickup truck would be heavy enough to give you good control with a 33K gross. Even with a 22K gross I didn't have any brakes by the time I got to the bottom of a grade in Tenn.

Steep grade with that much in one of our trucks is something I avoid. Electric over hydraulic on both axles helps everywhere else. Got more time than money start out slow.

i can buy a good used set of 3.54's carrier and all for 350 bucks he just wants to get rid of them im just not sure i want them idk 373's or 3.54's what should i do i plan on running 35's as well

You may want to figure your circumference of the 35's and compare with the stock tires. Then you can determine how much they will change your tire rotations per mile. I know a guy who changed tire size instead of changing gear ratio.
