Power steering fluid blowing out of deep stick/cap

Hi everyone,
I am new to site and this is my first tread
I have problem on my truck(2001 ram 3500 2WD Auto trany) that I do not understand.
Hoping someone knows why or may be help me on this issue.
Couple days ago I replaced rear brake calipers and brackets, rotors and pads because, caliper was sticking(I think) However, Today trying to bleed brake lines
So, I ask my wife to pump the brake pedal couple times and she did
nexting I here was siezling sound in engine compartment It was power steering overflowing out of pump cap and kind of foamy too
After I'd cleaned up mess on the floor, started engine then pumped the brake then it was fine(No overflow)
ran out of time had get to work so, thats where I left
Did I mess something up or Am I doing something wrong?
any had issue like this?

Thanks:humm::humm:

If the overflow happened while pumping the brakes with the engine off then I would say the power steering was over filled. Your truck has a hydraboost brake booster that has an accumulator to store enough pressurized steering fluid for a couple boosted stops incase you have a steering pump failure. When you hit the brakes with the engine off the stored fluid from the accumulator will be transfered back to the ps reservoir and since the engine is off the pump is not circulating the fluid so you get an overflow if the reservoir was already overfilled.

Bryce,
Thanks for your comment
I'd forget to mention about re-sealing on vacuum/PS pump week before this problem
when I re-installed vac/ps I'd add @ 1/2 qt of PS fluid But, I didn't think that was overfill
Today, I am going to finish bleeding brake lines and keep it eye on'em
Mainly I was worrying about damaged the hydraboost brake booster or something when I did that
I'll see today and be back.
Thanks again.

I was closely monitoring PS pump as I was flushing and air out of brake lines and No more puking:jump:
and PS fluid lvl looks good Thank you for very good info.
