new injectors, now starts hard

Hey guys, I just put new 7x12 injectors in my 01 cummins... the day i did them the truck ran great, i still have the hx35 on the truck and it was making 35psi when i got on it. When i let the truck sit for a few hours, it cranked for like 5-10 seconds before it started. I thought maybe crossover tube o rings, so replaced the o rings and put it back together, hard start went away but it then only made 28-30psi and it feels like it gets up to like 2800 rpm and stops getting the fuel that it was at first. Then, i did a boost leak test, and found a big leak in the intake runner so i had to pull it all back apart and fix. now it starts hard again and it still isnt running as good as i think it should...

Could i have the wrong o rings? Is my pump getting weak? I have 18psi of fuel pressure from the air dog, no fuel leaks that i can see visually, but the hard start makes me think there is air getting in somewhere...

what about your lift pump?

the fuel pressure gauge never drops from 18psi. it seems to be working just fine. and i primed the system with it 3 times now. no problem

hmmm could be a weak vp. occasionally with mine if i get on it a lot with my 150hp ddps and my programmers turned up a little bit i get a hiccup at 20 psi. and if i let off the throttle too fast after doing a wide open it will run the truck out of fuel. and i have a fass 150 that works great. i only did it once were i had to crack injector lines to get it to start again. but it could be that your getting air in fuel if you are getting on it all the time and then shutting the truck down before you get all the air out of the system. maybe try loosening up 1 and 3 and crank it a few times. then tighten and start and let the truck run for 15 mins and see what it does after that.

i ordered up some factory o rings... im gonna start over and see what happens... for the 4th time:argh:

What is your cranking fuel pressure. too much pressure can also cause hard starts.

What brand is the lift pump

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

Are you getting fuel to the injectors?
