Pinging sound from my Cummins??
One of my 3500's started pinging, like the sound you would have in a gasoline motor when you have 12:1 pistons and try to run cheap fuel through it. It does it not at WOT but at a light throttle. Seems to be getting louder too! :argh: Anybody have ideas on the pinging cause??:humm
I think its maybe an injector??:humm: I have had the same BD 110 sticks in for about 10 years now. I have been faithful putting injector cleaner in all them regularly. I could be wrong though. Someone on another site suggested the MAP sensor so, I am now in the process of replacing that, had a spare thank God. I am open for any reasonable suggestions. The only thing wrong with the truck is the damn O-ring connecting the power steering to the vacuum pump is leaking, but I don't think that has a bearing in it to make that sound. Thanks,:c: Steve |
The vacuum pump wouldn't make that noise. But it does sound like a spark knock.
