Steering problem.

Something is up with my steering when I turn the wheel right a little bit almost like somthing is loose, I can't hear any noises, I just feel it in the floor board. Almost like its being hit with a rubber mallet. Everything seems tight under there... Any ideas? Truck does not have death wobble, and doesn't wonder on the road that bad.

Are the rear steer axle shackles loose?

The rear U-bolts or the rear leaf spring shackle bolts? im confused as to what you mean by "rear steer" the rear U bolts are not loose...

This sounds like a track bar thud/clunk. Have you shook it around to see if there is any play? There should be none at all.

i recently replaced the lower bushing, and the upper ball joint link wasnt loose, but not super tight. the lower bushing was smoked, and never made a clunk.

I had the same symptom of a single clunk/thud I could feel in my feet when turning off-center. It was my bushings (I have the 3rd gen bar/bushings). My bar would make a small knock when I would crawl under and shake it. However with the weight of the truck it magnified by 100x. When you turn the wheels, and the axle relies on the track bar to keep it centered under the truck the problem would happen.

I am not saying for sure that is it, but if you have play in it at all, it could be the source.

Good luck!
