Default vacuum problem

Can anyone tell me where vacuum lines go to that runs across the cowling and looks like it goes in somewhere over by the PCM or straight behind the turbo somewhere.. heater won't switch off of defrost and i'm thinkin this is my problem... any help is appreciated....

That line goes into the cab and controls the level selector switch on heat/ac control. It usually cracks or breaks on the hard line against the cowl above the engine and turbo. Start there and look closely for cracks or holes.

Yes it looks to me like it goes in the cowl through a hole.. it has been cut/worn in 2 there and i cant find the other end.. if maybe anyone has a picture or diagram i have been through this whole truck pretty much so even maybe somewhat of a description i can figure it out... havent gotten the mind set to actually tear into it yet either but in my experience its been easier to ask here then tear down cause i'm usually not the 1st one to have a problem... thanks though!!!

That vacuum line goes into the cab and goes to the level selector switch. You will have to unbolt the dash and rotate it back to gain access to the other end of the hard line.

Well it broke right there where it goes through the firewall.. me being the way i am i'm gonna see if i cant possibly fish the other end out from the engine bay... please work!!!! thanks man

It really is not hard to tilt the dash back. But I do understand not wanting to mess with it. I wish you luck on the fishing trip.
