Running odd after injector swap
A kid in town installed 100hp injectors and now it has no power or seems dead above 2000rpm. He said he had a new lift pump put in and is running without any programmer. Could this be because the cross over tubes are not tight enough? Im just throwing ideas out...

It's because he's on stock tuning... Just because he added a set of injectors doesn't mean it will make more power.

Just went for a ride in the truck and i agree with you 100%. it seems to have a little more grunt but it still has stock timing, and de-fuel settings. It runs right up to 2000 and creeps to 2300. No missing no popping, everything sounds like it should. Sorry for posting before seeing truck first hand guys!!

It should still rev without any problems. Have you checked for codes? Sounds like it could be the apps. I would suggest trying an apps reset. If that doesn't work test the apps following the procedure on this link VP44 Diagnostic

boost fooler or programmer? if not probably getting factory defueling/codes
|
It would rev to redline but i think he was thinking it would feel more powerfull than it did. I did reset the apps just to see if it made a difference and it didnt. He is looking for a tuner rite now.

Ok. I thought it wasn't reving past 2300:ouch:
|
Nope, i saw 3000. Can you guys recommend a programmer? Will a aftermarket lift pump be immediately needed? All i know about the vp44 trucks is they need a good lift pump.
|
Need to do the lift pump first. Next would be a set of gauges or a chip with built in gauges. I really like my edge juice. The edge comp is pretty much the same as juice without a monitor and gauges.

i just put 100hp injectors in my truck and i thought the same thing at first also. i left the chip on 0 and just the injectors alone didnt do much but with the chip its way better
