My truck was slamming into gears and 3rd and 4th felt weak. i decided to do a band adjustment and it made a big difference between shifting and lockup in O/D. it is recommended to do every 20000 miles on chrysler/dodge transmissions Try doing that, it could help and takes maybe 2 hours.
https://www.atsdiesel.com/additional...ent%20v1.0.pdf Step by step process, fairly easy to do just need trans oil and gasket when done. Also find a torque wrench for 72 in. pounds. :tu: |
Thanks to both of you. I will try checking the wiring fort then the bands. My next question is with this being my daily driver will driving easy hurt anything until weekend when I can get to it?!
|
You may be able to get away with driving it easy but I would avoid it if possible.
|
If you want you can take you oil to a transmission shop and tell them to check it. They can give you some input on what might be happening. But yea I wouldnt drive on it but if you do drive it like a grandpa. If you do the band adjustment let me know how it goes!:c:

Thanks everyone for the advice. I ordered a new tcc external harness connector and pig tails
|
Well I replaced the connector on outside of transmission with little improvement. Still throwing p0743 code and the guy at advanced auto is sure the trans is done. Still lacks power, shifts are in the wrong spots, mileage is bad, and I hear the trans rattling. Probably have aamco look at it. Any ideas that might help?!
|
I think the torque converter took a crap. Does it only rattle at certain speed? My dads truck rattles horribly but he still plows and turns the radio up louder. :td: but it's hard to diagnose anything over the Internet. Did you adjust the bands?

---AutoMerged DoublePost--- No I didn't but will take to aamco to see what they say, I'm getting sick of the headache |
Before you can condemn anything you need to fix that P1765 code. The other codes will be caused by that code. If you can not get 12 volts to the solenoids, they will not do anything. Do you have 12 volts down at the trans connector. Does your trans relay turn on? Is the transmission fuse good? Does it have 12 volts?
Once you get that in line you can look at other issues. With that problem, you will be running in limp mode. It will take off in 2nd gear and lack power and never make shifts. You will have reverse as it is a manual valve in the transmission. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Here is the factory diagnostics for this code. I'm only pulling the p0743 code now
