it is really cold where im at! thought might have got some water in the fuel and it froze? i put some diesel 911 thats supposed to fix that and still wont start?

How cold? How long were you driving before this happened? last fill up? Any codes/ engine light come on? The water thing sounds ligical. Im surprised 911 didnt help. Try turning on the ign and bumping the starter, w/o starting the engine and see if you can hear your fuel pump working. Check or change your fuel filter also. humm:

i was driving for about 15 minutes! i filled it all the way up last weekend, gauge says i have a little over 1/4 tank. no codes or engine light. lift pump is running like it should, and just changed filter less than a month ago!! i have no clue whats going on?

it was also like 5 degrees f when this happened

Sounds like it gelled up to me, I've never had it do it going down the road. Had it do it one night while it sat put 911 in it and left it for a couple hours and it worked. I bumped the starter a few times to try and circulate some of the 911 and then left it

Im with Diesel life on this one. I does sound like a gelling issue.

Have you tried adding some fuel to the tank? The fuel gauge reading wrong happened to me. Gauge worked fine the tank before then my truck died on me going down the road. Gauge said 1/4 tank but it was empty. Since it died on you going down the road I would think that you are going to have to bleed the lines no matter what the cause was.

Does sound like a gelling issue..

But 5*F??
That is freakin ridiculous!

It's been -20 to -40 around here lately! And I've got like.. 1/4 tank.. It's been sittin for 2 1/2 weeks while I work on it no additive last fill up and it's not gelled.. Sounds like you got some crap fuel there bud...:td:

Actually I'm more towards the empty tank.. My gauge is all screwy, I put $30 in and it says half a tank :argh:
Apparently a common issue with these beasts.

duckslayer31 02-02-2013 08:18 AM

so where do i start with bleading the lines? and getting all that shit out of the system? should i try adding some fresh fuel and some more 911?
