power issue

I have a 99 that is giving issues. Going down the road it will suddenly lose all power, almost as if I let off the pedal. I had to down shift to 3rd gear on a flat road in order to keep going. I could let off the accelerator or I could floor it with no noticeable difference. Then just as I am fixing to give up, it takes on fuel and takes off. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with this thing?

Thanks in advance

From what your discribing an APPS/TPS you can try to relearn it.

Relearn process

1. Disconnect both BATTS

2. Turn Key of to ACC (KOEO)

3 Wait 30 Minutes

4. Turn Key Off

5. Replace BATT Cables.

6. Turn key on to ACC again

7. Push Accelerator Pedal slowly all the way to the floor then slowly let off the pedal.

8. Turn key off.

Go and see if it helps.

Anything done to your truck? Stock lift pump? Mileage? Scanned for codes? Engine light?

I have just tried what you suggested. Time will tell if it works. I will keep you posted. Thanks for the advice

Besides what you have done, if that did not work, try to let us know the following from up above.

Also when it acts like it has no acceleration does the engine sputter or just drop in RPM?
