Did you check the tank for water? If water gets in the fuel line it would not take long to freeze. You can not check the tank for water unless it has been in a warm place for a while as the water can be frozen on the bottom of the tank and stick with water check paste will not go into the ice. 0 psi is an obstruction or fuel pump. The fuel will gel in the fuel filter before it gels in the tank.

I gotta believe like RAWilliams said you just ran into a bad batch of fuel :c:

Well I changed out the filter checked the filter heating element, have a bottle of Power Service Artic Formula in it. Filter was dirty, I changed her and put poweservice in there too. so I will see if she will have any fuel pressure. I had 20 psi On my way home compared 14 psi IDLE and 8 at 50mpg. Pray for me lol

Now as for water in the tank. If I had any I would think it would end up in the bottom of the fuel filter housing and out of all the times I open the drain valve on the filter housing I never had water come outta it. Its extreamly dry where I live humidity is generally around 3% in the summer and 7% in the winter. I can be wrong and still of water in the tank but Im not getting complete obstuction the truck will idle but at 1800 rpm starts cutting out.

Well I started her up and watched her and I didnt loose fuel pressure and thought I was good then I came back out to leave and 0 PSI... what the hell, so I guess I have something in my lines. But this is the first time Ive ever had this issue... and it just happened after I filled up the truck......

Similar temps as before?

RanchhandTCR 01-05-2013 06:54 PM

Yep between -24 and -30 this past week. I think there water in this last batch of diesel, One of my friends I called today said he knew of a group of guys fighting bad diesel that got it from the same fuel station as me. So I guess Im gonna get HEET or Diesel 911 and dump it in and run my truck as much as I can tomarrow and try to get the diesel outta there. Road trip anyone???? that was a waste of a 130 bucks...

Same problems on mine. There has been some bad fuel down here and I fought it for a week. Problem is not the temps it's if the wind blows at all you just can't avoid fuel problems when it's that cold. If you still have my # give me a buzz and ill tell you where I have been getting fuel that stopped the problem.
