ChecK engine light with Code P1693
Have been doing some reading on past threads with P1693 code coming up but it appears that I need to have it scanned to address the issue but figured I would throw it out for comment.
Just a short note on this issue, started truck yesterday morning to go goose hunting. The air temp was minus 15 f and it started right up came back 20 minutes later to see the check engine light on. Truck drove fine with no loss of power or other issues but I am lerry of driving it much more before I find out what could be the issue. Nearest shop is 70 miles away, add on the fact that I am confined to a wheelchair and trying to get service is going to be an issue but I can deal with it. Just wondering if it could be the VP or something else major. Any help or advice is appreciated Thanks Nevadagramm |
Yes you will have to hook it up to a scanner. If you have a parts store close they will usually have a scanner that you can borrow (I know O'reilys and Autozone does). I would say with the temp the code is going to be for a high/low current to the air heater but possibly due to low fuel pressure. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Merry Christmas

The truck came with a juice with attitude chip and as such I believe I should be able to see the fuel pressure on the output screen but I could be wrong. What type of pressure would or should be looking for if it does show fuel pressure

Yes the edge will show fuel pressure as long as it is all hooked up. Fuel pressure should be 12-17psi at idle and at least 8psi at wide open throttle. If its not change you fuel filter. Are you using anti gel in your fuel?
