First is to put a good lift pump on (fass, airdog, raptor) and a fuel pressure gauge then you can think about a tuner.

ya for sure good lp first then perhaps gauges after that intake/exhaust then tuner. thats how i did it atleast i just did a 1900 mile trip and averaged 23.4 mpg doing 75-80 so im happy with that.

If you dont have a lift pump and gauges do it asap! Sounds like you have a auto in which case is good up to a few hp(around 60-70hp). You can run a full tuner on your truck(edge, quad ect) on a stock tranny but dont expect to be hard on it and for it to last forever. Once the tranny is built right then intake, exhaust, good tuner, small injectors will benefit you with a few mpgs. Your auto will have your mpgs lower and your 4in lift and 35's arent helping either. Im getting about 16mpg in town and 21highway im a 6 speed tho and 4.10's with 33's and leveling kit. I usually run with my edge on level 5 if I keep my foot out of it that usually results in the best mpg.

Im new to this to. And i got to know. Why is a fuel gauge so important to mpgs? Isnt the fuel pressure going to be what its going to be regaurdless?

Actually poor fuel psi will cause bad mpgs believe it or not. The reason why fuel pressure gauges are so important on these trucks is cause poor psi will kill the injection pump then you are looking at about 1,300.00 to replace it. You need to ditch the stock lift pump even if you dont plan to mod the truck at all. Good psi will keep the injection pump cool and also the fuel helps keep it lubricated. Either way gauges help you tell whats going on with your truck(fuel psi, boost, egt's and tranny temp if your a auto)

Usually I buy stuff from dap(dieselautopower.com) they most of the time have a good price. I would go around to a couple different sites and compare prices. You might be able to find some Christmas deals going on right now. Oh and STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING GLOWSHIFT!

A pessure gauge will also let you know when its time to change the fuel filter. At the top of the page go to Armory and click on price quote. Start a new thread with what you would like a price on and the db sponsors will give you a price.
