Lift pump question.

I was in O'reilly's the other day and saw that they have a small diesel lift pump that might be 5 or 6psi. Its about $60 do yall think it would help the stock Carter pump on my truck?

Not worth it, get a good aftermarket LP. Save your self $1000 dollars later by spending $500 now.

X2 on doing it right. I put a block mounted on to run with my failing in tank pump when I first got he truck. 32psi at idle (WAY too much), 18 cruising, and 6 to 8 or so at WOT. It got me home, and was replaced with a FASS150 shortly. I wouldn't be surprised if that 32psi damaged the internals of my VP44.

NO! at a mininum I would put on a fass ddrp that will outperform the stock lift pump, there is a fine screen to cleaned on the input side of the pump,a bit of a pain,There are other options,a much bigger fass, airdog, raptor, etc. You do not want 5-6 lbs fuel pressure on these trucks you want more! nothing under 10psi@ wide open throttle. If your going to do other mods to the truck go with a bigger pump. Put gauges on also pryo, lift pump pressure, boost, then go from there:pca1:

Yea the FASS DDRP is the pump I am going to get when the cash is available. I was just looking something cheaper I might could use just to help the stock pump last as long as possible. Ill just save the $60 and wait till I can afford the FASS pump. Thanks guys!!!

Like others have said 10psi at minimum. If you plan on doing any mods in the future you will want more than the ddrp. Its just a stock replacement for stock trucks.

I would recommend the DDRP for a stock truck with no programmers or chips. We did actually do away with the banjo bolt screen and went with a small in line filter. Let us know if you need anything.

Thanks I will! We installed a DDRP on my uncles 2001 dodge back in april and its been great! He has a BANKS tuner on it and it still holds great fuel pressure, he loves it!

what i recommend is the raptor frrp its a 100 gph and its only 300 dollars new and it mounts directly in the factory location. thats your best bet.
