pyro probe placement

i dont know weather to install the pryo probe before the turbo on the manifold or just place it behind the turbo on the exhaust pipe, tell me whats better and also easier.:tu:

Defiantly pre-turbo, in the rear of the two collectors.

but why pre turbo? I dont understand why

It is a more accurate reading of the temperature in the cylinder. Having a pyro is to protect the engine more than it is to protect the turbo. There can be a 200* difference between in the manifold, and post turbo.

Fully agree with RAWilliams. My prob is in the same spot as his. Plus, who gives a rip what the temp is after the turbo. Doesn't really matter

I have mine pre-turbo aswell I just did as my brother in law told me to but his reasoning was/is sound. It was something about melting pistons and all that. doing a bit of reaserch shows the melting point of pure aluminum is around 12-1300 degrees and your pistons are made of an aluminum alloy so if your egt's are realy high for an extended period of time it could cause internal damage.

Also you could run two, one pre turbo one post and just remove any question of which is better.:yeah:
