Got the gauge on this weekend. So easy! Put the sending unit right before the IP where the rubber hose and steel line meets. Thanks for all the advice!

What pressures are you getting? Idle, Cruising, and WOT?

:pca1: I've got glowshift guages all work well besides fuel pressure it reads 2psi off and occasionally flutters good guages pay off!

Sorry RA, I missed your question.
It runs about 10 at an idle and 6 to 8 under a load. It seems to flutter a little, is that common? I used an isspro electric gauge. |
I just got done installing my liftpump as well, and electric isspro ev2 gauge. Mine flutters just a lil bit as well.

Good, I was afraid maybe there was something wrong with my ip. I put the gauge on with a new lift pump. How did you mount your gauge? I ended up buying a cheap bracket from Isspro because they said it would snap right in and wouldn't need a retainer on the back of the gauge. Not the case.....I could have went to Auto Zone and bought the same bracket for for $5! |
Yesterday was the first time I pulled a trailer since I put the gauge on and it was reading 1 to 2 psi the whole trip. The red warning light on the gauge never came on but the low reading on the gauge made me nervous. Do I have anything to worry about?

Yes..... u need to replace your lift pump ASAP

This whole thing started because he got a new FASS lift pump. That doesn't mean the pump isn't bad, but all those pressures sound way too low to me and even the best gauges aren't completely without defective units. If there's any way you can put a mechanical gauge on to get a "second opinion", I'd want to try that too. It's easier to change than the LP, but regardless, you have to try ruling them both out. Usually when FP sensors go bad they go the other way, showing higher and higher pressures until they're spiking out the gauge, but that doesn't mean you don't have a bad sensor. If you still have your stock LP and it works, you could swap it back in to check that too. Either way I wouldn't pull again until you figure out which is the problem. If it's the gauge, great; but if it's not... you don't want to screw around with under-feeding a VP44. :bomb:

My old LP is toast....I think I will call FASS Wednesday and see what they say. I hate to buy a mechanical gauge just to check the Isspro I put on.
Did I mention it reads about 8 to 10 when idling and runs down the road at 5 to 6, maybe 7, when not pulling a trailer. |
