Play in steering

Hey guys, Just like the title says I have some play in my steering wheel, driving and also just sitting. Wondering what to check other than the steering box seeing those are nice and pricey.

Thanks!

Check tie rod ends first. Have someone turn the wheels while you watch the steering box and if there is any movement of the box you need to get a steering box brace.

mine did that and the tie rod end nut was loose i tightened that and it still did it and wondered like crazy i finally put a steering box in it man it works nice now i also put a track bar and steering box brace!!! it rides good now

Track bar most common cause

Ed, a new one or just loose? Not sure really where to begin. Its cold now and I've been busy and lazy so I haven't looked into this much yet.

Pitman arm joint is also common. Like every other joint under there, easy to see where the play is with someone to jiggle the wheel for you while you scope it out.
