no start
 

I have a stock 2001 Dodge 3500. yesterday morning started truck and within 10 seconds it shut off and hasnt started since. I got fuel and bled lines thinking possibly went low on fuel since gauge doesnt work but still no start.

I have 12psi at the fuel transfer pump but I am not getting any volume. (less than 250ml)
I changed fuel filter today and I am getting fuel to the injector pump but I am not getting fuel to the injectors.
I also installed a block heater that circulates the coolant last week.
I have very little experience working on diesels and this is the first I have owned. Just looking for experience or suggestions, don't really want to just through parts at my truck

Sometimes it will take a while to bleed the injectors. You need to crack injectors 1, 3, &4 and just bump the starter (lift pump does not run while cranking the engine) and watch for fuel to start dripping. After bumping the starter the lift pump will run for 25sec so you might have to bump it several times. Close the injectors only while the lift pump is running and fuel is dripping. After youve bled 1,3,&4 try to start it. If you still cant get fuel to the injectors the overflow valve on the ip might be stuck open. If after doing this and you still cant get fuel to the injectors and your sure you have enough fuel in the tank, then the rotor on the injection pump is probably seized and you need a new vp44. Here is another link for you to read VP44 Diagnostic

Are you running 12 PSI? period. IF thats all you have at idle, and then at WOT is less than 8PSI then you may have a VP44 issue, but dont worry about that untill youve done what bryce has laid out for you to diagnose. He beat me to it..

Thanks, I opened the injector lines and was finally able to get fueland she started right up after that. I think I will still check my pressure at transfer pump as i believe it is the original, and after reading through posts on this form i think it might be worth replacing before problems start.

Yes a new aftermarket lift pump is the best investment you can make on your truck. If you dont have a fuel press gauge in the truck you need one asap.
