Turbo getting some play what do you think?

I run an he351cw out of a 2005 truck. It's starting to get a good amount of play I think. It will go in out some an even more up down. I just don't want to send the guts through my motor can't afford that. What do you think would be the best option? I've looked at these cartridges looks simple enough. I've heard to not rebuild them yourself with the bearing kits mainly because of the balancing which makes sense.

Looks like it would do the trick! If you get it, please let us know how it turns out.

Not that big of a deal to rebuild, mark the shafts before disassembly, you can get parts here

Ya been doing a little reading and that's what I found as long as you mark it perfect it's possible to do it so I may try it since I have a spare turbo anyway in a little better shape not perfect that I can run while I rebuild my one that is getting real bad. I read some of the reviews on those cartridges and some people were saying that it was chinese knock off stuff not name brand so I don't think I'll go that route.

When in doubt, throw it out!!! In the long run its cheaper to get another turbo than to replace/rebuild the engine. Rebuilding a turbo is a good alternative, if done right.
Pretty good time to upgrade if youre gonna do so.

I'm happy with my current set up it puts down 400 horse if I turn it to that and tows well and it's mainly a work truck so I'm gonna stick with what I got. I'm still kind of scared of rebuilding since it could be a spendy mistake but I'm still weighing all the options.

I've rebuilt my S471, and HX35. Both relatively simple for me. I have also been in the Heavy Equipment Technician trade for 10 years, so most of it is second nature. Take your time, double check everything before removing or installing, and do the research. In the end, you will likely find it's an easy project.
