Small Diesel engine question.
I don't know where else to post this on this website but me and a couple friends were thinking about building a diesel quad. Does anybody know a company that makes small diesel motors that are mechanically pumped? If I was mechanically pumped like a 12v I could in sense turbo it. That's my plan. I'm not looking to be the fastest out there I just want to have a unique quad. If anybody can point me in a direction ill let you ride it when it's done :tu:

Kubota is the only one I can think of at the moment.

Thank you very much for that! Do you know if I'm correct if I say I could turbo it if its mechanically pumped?

Well yes you could turn up the pump, put a turbo on it and squeeze some more power out of it

The compression ratio would determine how much boost you can run. Non-Turbo diesels usually have high compression ratios so you might have to change the pistons or you could try to fabricate a head extender which wouldn't need to be that thick but the would create more volume area in the cylinder at top dead center lowering the compression ratio. Could have issues with the head gaskets not taking the pressure and then also you would probably want to find a way to intercool it to keep the EGT's down with it being a small engine burning that hot. Plus a intercooler will help with performance!!!!! Hope this helps.
