Tranny

So it started with a minor slip in my 99 2500 auto and now it goes nowhere and it was that fast headin home from town! My plan is to take it in and see if someone will rebuild it for me since I am unable to put in the time right now. Any suggestions on a step up from stock rebuild??? I do some towing and wheeling but nothing real serious?? Thanks for any help

No noises when it happened? Did it happen while you were going down the road or after you made a stop?

It was slipping going down the road but wont move at all when I parked it almost like it would act low on fluid, but of course I keep a close eye on it always so that is fine. No real smell noise nada??

If you do have to rebuild it I would suggest getting billet shafts, upgraded torque converter, and a better valve body. It won't be cheap but it will handle any power upgrades you do in the future. Build it once, build it right. Suncoast (SUNCOASTTRANSMISSIONS.COM) or ATS (ATS Diesel Performance ) are two of the best diesel transmission companies around.

Sounds kinda dumb but check to make sure you didnt accidentaly bump 4x4 into neutral.

I smashed the drivers side bumper in the other day nosing it in the ground coming off a big rock. Almost flipped it end over.

Yeah I thought the same thing trying to see if it would go but no good, I have never really pulled anything or drove it hard since I have owned it but it seems like something came loose?? what do ya do!!! Nice meeting you and thanks for the links bud

With it not making any noise or one big bang, I'd say it is hopfully just the torque converter or the clutches. If it is the tc get it from one of the above companys. The upgraded valve body will provide better fluid flow throughout the tranny and also improve mpg a little. Hope its nothing serious.
